Dolores Atallo

Dolores advises board members and senior management in matters of governance and risk oversight structure and roles, risk appetite, linkage to strategy and risk culture integration.

Dolores has over 25 years of Big Four, financial services and consulting experience helping clients build and enhance Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Corporate Governance, Compliance programs and Capital Management practices. She focuses on assisting boards and financial institutions assimilate evolving governance practices and compliance requirements to facilitate regulatory readiness and communication with external stakeholders, including rating agencies, analysts and investors.

Dolores also has experience designing, building and enhancing enterprise risk management and compliance programs by integrating risk and capital practices, including credit, market and operational risks into an enterprise-wide perspective to protect and enhance value across the three lines of defense, focusing on:
• Balancing strategy and business objectives with governance and oversight
• Aligning strategy, products and services with risk profile and appetite
• Driving new ideas and leveraging resources to protect value and create high value solution
• Collaborating with diverse colleagues and team members

Chris O'Connell

Chris advises board members and executives on topics of risk management and compliance. Chris’ experience and current responsibilities include assisting clients with implementing strong risk management practices, and providing advisory support around Enterprise Risk Management, credit, operational, and reputation risk. He focuses on assisting clients with redesigning risk and management reporting, effectively assessing risk appetite, and digitalizing risk data for effective management. His experience also includes risk function assessments, regulatory compliance, risk governance, system design. Chris began his career in the banking and financial services industry, focusing on credit risk management.

David Koenig

David Koenig

David is the Founding Principal of The Governance Fund, a leading-edge company that uniquely focuses on the link between organizational risk governance and value creation. David serves as a non-executive Director for the Northfield Hospital & Clinics healthcare system as is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA).

David has over 30 years of entrepreneurial and executive experience in the financial sector with companies such as U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, the Principal Financial Group, and the First National Bank of Chicago. He led the development of the first firmwide risk management program in the mortgage banking business and had risk P/L responsibility for multi-billion-dollar portfolios of market and credit risk-sensitive assets. He led the development of three start-up companies, three de novo corporate risk management programs, and has been awarded both the M-Prize for management innovation from the Management Innovation eXchange and the Higher Standard Award from the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA).

David is widely published in books, magazines, and journals. He is the author of the highly acclaimed book Governance Reimagined: Organizational Design, Risk, and Value Creation (John Wiley & Sons, 2012) and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Risk Management in Financial Institutions where he was the invited Special Editor of two issues of the journal.

David has an M.A. in Economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL (1985) and B.A. degrees in Economics and Mathematics, with a Certificate in Statistics from Miami University in Oxford, OH (1984).

Sal Mondelli

Sal Mondelli

Sal Mondelli is an experienced senior executive having been CEO and COO of multiple organizations. He has served on ten boards including as chairman of two of them. Sal is currently a CEO Advisor and Coach with The Bailey Group. Having served on executive, finance, audit, HR, and governance committees, his board expertise has been focused on:


- Governance
o Chairman of two high-profile boards with politically sensitive environments

- Strategy Development
o Led strategic planning efforts as CEO, COO, and Board Member

- Enterprise Risk Management
o Developed, and implemented board level risk management assessment, and mitigation program
o Proficient in I/T assessment, and mitigation planning

He gained a greater appreciation for Enterprise Risk Management as a regional Vice President and Managing Director at Jefferson Wells (now Experis) a Manpower Company. That combined with over thirty years of information technology experience has allowed him to be a value added advisor to senior leaders, and organizations in multiple industries.

Sal holds a B.S from the U.S. Naval Academy, and a M.S. from the University of Southern California.
